When to Go
Overall, late June to mid-September is the optimal time to experience the full range of activities and beauty Glacier National Park has to offer. That being said, Spring and Fall are also nice because they’re less crowded and you can see the beautiful snowfall on the higher elevations.
Whiskey Tasting
At the Whiskey Barn you can try a flight of five from a long list of interesting Montana spirits that are hand crafted and hand bottled in house. You can smell the barley when you walk in the door. Glacier Distilling Company is a locally owned and located 7 miles from the west entrance of Glacier National Park. The most unique spirit I tried was the “Mule Kick,” a savory and spicy spirit infused with fresh jalapenos, garlic and black peppercorn. This spirit will give your taste buds a kick in the butt, but I think it’d be delicious in a margarita! My favorite spirit was the “Wheatfish,” a single-malt whiskey with a nose of honeysuckle and ripe pear from the malted wheat.
