Visit Michael Jackson's "Thriller" House
Michael Jackson’s Thriller video is arguably one of the most famous and memorable videos of all time. In the video, around the 10:30min mark, a dilapidated old Victorian home is shown, and this home is located in Los Angeles’ Angelino Heights neighborhood near Echo Park Lake. In this post, I’ll give you the location and history of this house so you can go and check it out.
Angelino Heights was established in the 1880’s and is a Victorian Era suburb. Today there are many well preserved Victorian homes, most notably on Carroll road. The Thriller house is located at 1345 Carroll Avenue. In 1971, this home plus the entire block on Carroll were declared cultural historical monuments.

This house is in the L.A. Neighborhood of Angelino Heights/Echo Park
Address: 1345 Carroll Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90026
Admission: Free to look at from the street, but you can’t tour the inside of this home because it’s privately owned.

The History
The “Thriller” house was built in 1887 for a warehouse operator named Michael Sanders. It’s a 3,532-square-foot house that was originally a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom single family residence. The property has been converted to duplex-type housing, but looks completely abandoned, adding to it’s creepy mystique.
